Speaker - Matthew Keenan
Matthew Keenan is a 40-year practicing attorney who left Shook, Hardy & Bacon after 37 years to become Executive Director of Kansas Legal Services, a non- profit law firm that offers legal assistance to families across Kansas who need help with the civil (non-criminal) legal needs. Last year their 45 attorneys in 11 offices assisted 23,000 Kansans.
Matthew is originally from Great Bend, attended KU undergrad and law school and graduated in the top 10% of his law school class in 1984. After graduation he clerked for a federal judge on the 10thCircuit Court of Appeals. In April, 2018, President Trump nominated Matt to serve on the board of Legal Services Corporation, the federal agency which oversees funding for 131 separate legal aid organizations across the country. In August, 2018, the Senate confirmed his nomination. Matt and his wife Lori have been married 37 years and have four adult children. They live in Leawood and are active in Cure of Ars parish.
Gathering together to share a meal, good conversation and Catholic spiritual ideas and practices promotes the common good of Kansas City. Following millennia old ideals of Catholic Social Teaching, attendees grow in fellowship and practical integration of faith and work.
CBN is a recognized and approved Catholic lay
apostolate approved by both the Kansas City in
Kansas Archbishop and the Bishop of Kansas City
St. Joseph.
Though not part of our core purpose,
over the years we have assisted many
men and women in finding employment.

as our guest and bring resumes to share.
